Investing in Tucson’s Next Generation: BLGM Supports the 16th Annual ALOE Scholarship Banquet

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, Bache Lynch Goldsmith & Mendoza was glad to be among the sponsors backing the 16th Annual A Legacy of Excellence College Scholarship Banquet.

What started in 2010 as a single $2,000 scholarship funded by bake sales and barbecue dinners has become one of Tucson’s most meaningful scholarship efforts. Founder Jeffrey Sawyer’s vision now mobilizes a network of school, business, community, and nonprofit leaders across Southern Arizona, all rallying behind African American students in the Tucson Unified School District who are headed to college. This year, ten honorees walked away with $5,000 cash scholarships, plus the kind of community backing that lasts well beyond graduation day.

Supporting young people as they take their next big step matters to us. Education changes the trajectory of families and communities, and ALOE is doing the work of making that change possible, one student at a time. We are grateful to the committee, the donors, and every advocate who showed up to make this year’s banquet a success.
